Become a Master Gardener!
The Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod is now accepting applications for the 2025 class. If you enjoy gardening and are enthusiastic about sharing your gardening knowledge, please consider submitting an application.
The Master Gardener program is a cooperative effort between community volunteers and the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension. This program is designed to meet the horticulture needs of Barnstable County citizens through education and outreach. If accepted into the program you will be trained by the Cooperative Extension. This is a long term commitment and you must be willing to commit to the volunteer and training time if accepted into the program.
Deadline for applications is October 1st.

An update from the UMass Extension Landscape, Nursery, and Urban Forestry Program:
UMass Extension’s Green School is a comprehensive 60+ hour certificate short course that offers fundamental horticultural training in a compact time frame. This course emphasizes a systems-based approach to plant and land care based on current research and is built on a framework of Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Cost: The tuition rate for Green School is $1100 (registration deadline is 10/18/24, pending availability of seats). Click here for complete course info, detailed schedules, and registration options.
Where? Green School will be entirely virtual, taught by UMass Extension Specialists, UMass faculty, and distinguished guest instructors.
When? Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 10/29/2024 through 12/19/2024.
Who Should Attend Green School? Professionals such as landscapers, lawn care providers, nursery operators, public and private grounds managers, arborists, professional gardeners, landscape and garden designers, and others in the green industries. Both experienced individuals as well as those aspiring to be will benefit from this course.
